The truth behind the real value that this gadgets have for us might be found in the importance that those things that the gadgets simplify really have in our lives. I mean, sending a message and recording a video at the same time, while listening to music during the download of my favorite play list, makes me wonder how vital is the multitasking skill of my phone to me.
In my opinion, we should focus on trying to develop a skill in ourselves, rather than using multitasking gadgets, that at the end of the day, don't do the important things we should care about in life.

This phrase talks about a big reality that happens in our times. Technology has become a big indispensable thing in people's life and without it people wouldn't be able to communicate, express their emotions, etc.
Years ago, people used to write letters, and go to visit their families. Right now people communicate through technology, they send messages, make calls, video calls, and because of this reason, people gets away from their loved ones.
I can also recognize that using technology for communicating is so easy but it is sadly at the same time because that way people don't visit their friends, neither family members.
I would like to get back years ago when people used to visit you and pass time having great moments, not now that when we go to a party, everybody is on their smartphones.
I agree with this quote because without the technology that we have on our times we wouldn´t be able to have a fast communication. It would take a lot to send a message to another people or we wont be able to communicate because it would difficult and slow. Some of this technology is good if you use it for a good result or it is a dangerous place for people because someone can get your personal information.

Well in my opinion this quote try to tell us that the world is communicated every second so everything that happens in a part of the earth the other place know it thanks for the technology so everything you share or everything that post in a social network now all the world can know it. Difference to the past, which was more difficult to know what was happening at that moment in the world.
In my opinion, I think that it´s good to be informed in every second because now you can know problematic of another country and not to be only in your “box” so you can know what you deal in the world

In my opinion this quote is not just making reference to a big example of technology is making reference to internet the most important invention in technology , are some peoples that their everyday life is being on internet , charing , seeing videos , playing ,etc. this quote express the feeling of someone and a quote for all of us to see how internet has affected some people going to a level that they had completely lost his/her life surfing on the internet , that quote is very impressing for me because Andrew Brown tell in a little phrase the progress that technology have in our life .

Well in my opinion this quote try to tell us that we have a lot of good products and good technology but we use this technology in the wrong way or not in the best way to use it.
For an example we use a cellphone to check our social network or instead that use it to communicate with the people. And this is what the author try to tell us, that we are using our technology in a wrong way or we don’t give the correct use.
But it depends in the use that the people give to it.
Well I´m agree with you classmate, my opinion is that all the gadgets that are invented is for a reason, but always exist a person that find another function for that invention and is for a bad way. So most of the times the people don’t use it for the right purpose or use it wrong. So the humanity have to be careful what they create or the humans don’t think in bad ways to use the invention.

I made this quote, It´s maybe quiet simple. The quote means that, the technology is something uncontrollable; it’s a necessity for humans renewed year after year because without the renewal we would be stuck in the past. The technology is something that cannot be stopped; the Scientifics always try to change the panorama and try to live in the future, although the funny thing is that we are living in the future. What irony. The human is an ambitious always tries to reach the perfection, and it´s getting what they want, step by step. The future it’s not going to be same as today, too much perfection could kill you.
I also think that technology is the future, because thanks to it many changes had developed through the years, changes that nowadays make our life easier as it was before.

it means technology is taking over the world to the point we're going t be part of it, or worse taken over by it. every day another technological research is made, improving the tech tree of these, it could be a small coding change to a new electric device or even a new neuroimplant. Ethic is changing trough the technology advance, modern technology is causing a lot of controversy because it crash with classical ethics for example there is genetic manipulation or euthanasia people can’t decide if is correct or not because it can improve a society but also destroy it like nuclear power, nuclear plants can provide us a lot of energy but it can cause a lot of damage like in Chernobyl. So if ethic control human conduct and technology is a product that offers the society the one that rules technology will rule ethics.

For me the technology is just what the phrase tries to tell, because for my technology is something that in these days humanity just creates and use it also coexist with it.
It’s art because it’s made with a particular easy way to use it, so humanity can use technology that not just cience and engineering it’s also about the way of how the society lives.
Yes technology has pros and cons but how I see it technology helps humanity in many ways just like , medicine, entreteiment, comication, engineering, cience, art, work, and actually in life, for good or for bad humanity it self is technology we créate technology, we use it, and another our body, the human body is technology we just don’t understand at all.
So for me gadgets or technology it self it’s not bad or good it’s the way you use it what really matters, everything it’s just about of perspective.
I agree, we are giving a lot of importance and power to the technology, we need to start focusing in ouselves, in what we can do, there are many things that we can do without help, but we instead of that, prefer to let the work to others (tech). As tech has pros, I believe there are mor cons because we are starting to be useless in our world, and we cannot let that to happen.

I found this quote the most interesting since, as it is establishing, nowadays people underestimate their own value, we think machines are smarter so we let them do all of our work, instead of doing it ourselves.
We have all the information in the world in our hands, we aren't aware what we are capable of, because we spent most of our time, letting a machine to "prove" it's better than us.
But that's the beauty of it, if we dare ourselves to be amazing, to increase our knowledge, to be better every day, we can demonstrate why we are unique, and why no machine can be more necessary then we are.

I'm have the same thought as Sydney J. Harris, because men have been trying to create a perfect piece, also a better material thing that maybe will overcome our minds. But that whole perfection I think may cause a big mistake, and that dangerous part is what technology do not have, our humanity, our feelings and senses. And the sad thing is that is happening now, what about the future?, We'll become just machines without feelings.

At first i star wondering about how much y can do with my phone; then i just felt empty about staying alone in my room texting and litenig my favorite music.
ReplyDeleteAt first it was awesome to me that i could be in contact with all my friends, but... That wasn't all. I just was alone in an empty room with nothing more than my phone.
What i mean is that we need to stop trying to change the contact face to face with a message.
We need to go outside and try new things with new people, not to play a video game every day.
I think that the internet is a great tool but just a tool... We need to stop trying to make that tool our life or our life style.
Once a time i was in a party, no. I wasn't dancing. I was texting my friends. WTF! I was with more people! But no, i wasn't talking with them, i was texting... That's sad, cuz' then i see that that was the last time i saw them because one of them move out of Qro.
If we start by just using the phone for it's purpose; call and answer. We will be in a better way of seeing the world.. Like it is, a better place, not just an empty room with our phones and an empty space in the internet.
